A little bit different, this baby blanket is crocheted in the round, with very few ends that require weaving in once you are finished. Although this blanket may look difficult to make, it is rated as suitable for an advanced beginner. It would make a wonderful christening blanket or stroller throw!

#4: Gerbera Cell Phone Charm

This charm is inspired by my book thongs. The entire charm was crocheted from one continuous strand of yarn – i.e. no joining of separate parts – hence its uniqueness. The charm can be detached from the cell phone strap so you can use it for something else, such as a bag charm.

Shop of the Week: By Ging

http://byging.etsy.com/

By Ging is a delightful Etsy shop, filled to the brim with handmade love! Ginger, the shop owner, is a talented crocheter who also makes handmade cards and upcycled notebooks. Shopping at By Ging is a real treat--there is something for everyone in this online boutique. The Bold Capelet is a great example of Ginger's love of color and fiber, not to mention her talent at crochet!

Ginger learned to crochet from her Grandmother at the age of 10, and she's been working to improve her craft ever since. In addition to crochet, Ginger also draws and writes poetry. When she was a teenager, she wanted a pen name. Since everyone in her family calls her Ging (short for Ginger) she thought that By Ging would be cute. "For 23 years I've signed my artwork, my poetry and now my crochet, 'by Ging.'" Ginger makes items for all ages. Her baby bottle cozies are so practical, and just so cute!

Ginger says she is a "busy Christian mom with 7 children (two sets of twins!!) a husband, a dog and a pet snake." She uses her artistic skills to fill in the gaps after cooking, cleaning, and the other daily activites that keep moms so busy. All that activity must be good for the creative spirit, because Ginger is definitely an artist with her crochet hook.

Ginger has her own blog: Mommygalloway.blogspot.com, and she is a member of Ravelry (an online knit and crochet community) as GingerG. She is a very active member of the Etsy community, with membership in several teams: Etsy Artists of Color Team, Etsy Hookers Team, CCCOE Team, Inland Empire Team, and of course, the CreateCrochet Team.

If you're looking for a special item, Ginger loves to take on custom orders, just send her a convo and she'll work with you to create a unique crocheted item just for you! She offers free shipping on all items shipped in the USA, with the exception of Pay it Forward items. Be on the lookout! you never know when a Pay if Forward will be listed in the By Ging shop.

As an Etsy seller, Ginger loves to trade with other members of the Etsy community:

"I love to trade. I'm a stay at home mom and so we don't have much extra money, so I really appreciate the act of barter. I have made some excellent swaps. If you are interested convo me and let's see what we can do for one another. "
