Shop of the Week: Crochet Bouquet

(http:/crochetbouquet.etsy.com/)

Crochet Bouquet is a lovely Etsy shop which specializes in crocheted flowers. Kathryn, the shop owner, learned to crochet when she was in 8th grade, and she’s never looked back. Kathryn began focusing on crocheted flowers a few years ago when a relative was living in a nursing home. Her handmade flowers brought smiles to residents and staff, and the concept of Crochet Bouquet was born. Kathryn made her first Etsy sale on April 4, 2008; soon she will be celebrating her one-year anniverary!

All the flowers in the Crochet Bouquet shop are designed and handmade by Kathryn herself. Crocheted flowers last forever, won't irritate allergies like flowers would, and don't need watering. They are perfect as appliqués to add to a bag or clothing, or as arrangements for the home. Kathryn makes crocheted flower magnets, flower arrangements, even flower coasters. Her crocheted flower pictures may be made into an Etsy shop banner. Kathryn also sells patterns for crocheted flowers. There is a Crochet Bouquet blog so you can catch up on Kathryn's new projects. (http://crochetbouquet.blogspot.com/)

Kathryn loves to create new things and will happily work with a customer to create a special custom order. The average turn-around time depends on what the customer wants, Kathryn's yarn supply, and how many other orders she is working on. Kathryn offers international shipping. Her flowers have gone all over the world, including Canada, Hawaii, Australia, France, and England.

Kathryn loves to hear from customers and see what they made using flowers from her shop. Another Etsy shop owner, Uppity Woman Designs (http://uppitywomandesigns.etsy.com/), uses Crochet Bouquet flowers to accent her sock animals.
What does Kathryn want you to know about her handmade flowers?

"Colorado sunshine inspires these special blooms.

I hope they bring a smile to you and your loved ones too."

Shop of the Week: Kristyns Kreations

Kristin opened her Etsy shop in September, 2008. The original spelling of her name was already being used, so Kristin borrowed her sister-in-law's spelling, and Kristyn's Kreations was born!

Kristin is the proud wife of a US Marine, and mom to one daughter. She comes from a crafty family. Her mother knits, her grandmother crochets, and Kristin is busy with photography, scrapbooking, and learning to crochet.

She orginally started her shop as a means to help her grandparents. Crochet is something Kristin's grandmother loves to do. Every baby blanket and scarf in Kristin's store is made by her grandmother, and the profits help to supplement her grandparent's income.

Also for sale in the shop are beautiful eye masks, handmade by Kristin with designer fabrics. The eye masks are lovely and quite soft, perfect for those of us who like to sleep in a completely dark room and wonderful to take along on a plane trip.

If one handmade shop isn't enough to keep Kristin busy, she opened a second Etsy shop in February, Kristyn's Kards (http://kristynskards.etsy.com/). The card shop is full of lovely handmade cards, tags and other paper goods. There are also lovely postcard prints of Kristin's own photos.

Kristin is happy to work up a custom order in either shop; her turnaround time usually within a week. She will ship internationally, just send her an Etsy convo to work up a special order.

What does Kristin want you to know about her handmade items?

"Crafts and home made items have been in my family for generations. Its in our blood, and we love to share that with others. From our hearts to your homes."

Meanwhile, check out these team members shops!

Peanut and Tommy - (http://peanutandtommy.etsy.com/)
her shop is amazing. I LOVE her items. Her shop is a family collective, much like mine. Which makes this shop even more special. Along with crochet, there are felt pins/appliques and some addition items available as well. The toys are just amazing.

a crocheter of 20 years, so very skilled. Just opened shop in November, so fairly new as well. Along with crochet, she offers hair clips and headbands. Her crochet focus is hats.

Intros Part 5

Here we are again, doing part 5 of intros. Our team is up to 22 members, if my memory is correct at 7am. :) Here is the next set of shops. We have some really amazing crafters on this team, and I hope I can learn a lot from them since I am such a beginner at this. Enjoy!

CrochetGal -
(http://crochetgal.etsy.com/) - is a very experienced crocheter. She has been doing this craft for most of her life and tends to always have a hook in her hand from what I hear. Maybe one day when I don't have a toddler that will be me :) Her shop focuses on one of a kinds and rarely duplicates a product. She offers wearable art, patterns, scarves, hats, detash yarn, and so much more.

CrochetBouquet -
(http://crochetbouquet.etsy.com/) - her shop is so unique and adorable. She is all about crochet flowers. Offering banners featuring a wild bouquet assortment of crochet flowers which is just so neat looking. Her flowers come as appliques, magnets, patterns to make them, rose stems or bouquets, and arrangements. A must see!

The Green Violet -
(http://thegreenviolet.etsy.com/) - a very brand new shop, just opened a month ago. And already had that first sale. She is a geologist by day and crochet crafter by night. Makes for an interesting story. Her shop offers crochet laptop cozies - which are so cute - wrist warmers, hats, and itty bitty bags. The itty bitty bags are adorable.

Intros Part 4

Hello Blog Readers. Please welcome the next set of shops to Etsy Team Create Crochet! I am happy to say new shops are joining the team all the time, so these intros will keep coming. I would love to hear any feedback or experience you may have had with any of our shops, please feel free to email me at kristynskreations@gmail.com

KameKnits -
(http://kameknits.etsy.com/) - her shop has a little bit of everything in it, which is great. Lots of choices! Crochet blankets/afghans, kids/baby items, wraps, scarves, and more! These fingerless gloves are really adorable.

Fiddlesticks -
(http://buckster.etsy.com/) - offers one of a kind crochet items, which is fabulous! Bright colors is her trademark and what she enjoys the most. Which makes her shop so much fun to check out. Not only does she offer finished products but also crochet patterns. Her finished products include: wraps, scarves, caplets, shrugs, and a custom order only vest.

Cobblers Cabin -
(http://cobblerscabin.etsy.com/) - I like that her shop offers items in different sizes, including plus size. There are even crochet outfits for American Girl Dolls, something different that you might not be able to get at stores for those dolls. Patterns available for hats, American Doll outfits, mittens, and more. Finished products include: hats, scarves, hat/scarf sets, placemats, fingerless gloves and more.

Paint1st
(http://paint1st.etsy.com/) - not the typical shop to be in a crochet team just looking at the name. She does have handpainted items in her shop, but also does crochet scarves as well. And they are very cute!
