Our team has agreed to participate in a crochet project for Operation Gratitude. We are going to knit scarves to donate to the Operation Gratitude project to be included in care packages for service men and women.
This project is being organized by the CreateCrochet Team leader Kristin of KristynsKreations.etsy.com. Any readers of this blog who would like to knit or crochet a scarf for this project, please feel free to go to Kristin's shop and send a convo, or post a comment here on the blog with a way for us to contact you.
Operation Gratitude seeks to lift morale and put smiles on faces of our service men and women by sending care packages addressed to individual Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines deployed overseas. Operation Gratitude care packages contain food, hygiene products, entertainment items and personal letters of appreciation, all wrapped with good wishes of love and support. Here is the info you need to crochet a scarf for this project: there is no set pattern you must follow. The scarf should be 5-7 inches in width only, and no more then 50 inches long. Subtle colors are preferred -- maybe go with greens,blacks, tans, browns, maybe a little blue, white -- stuff similar to military uniform colors. All yarns are accepted, but go for something soft.
The scarves do not need to be shipped until fall, so we will be sending them to Kristin by the first week of September. Just send an Etsy convo to Kristin for her snail mail address when you are ready to mail your scarf, and she will send the whole box in as one donation.
